My icons are gradually being replaced by the default Android icon. Whenever I reboot my phone more icons are affected. I would love to know how to restore these icons to their original graphics.

Thank you. I’m off to a good start. However, the backgrounds are white instead of transparent. I left a comment about that issue on that thread.
I can confirm, I have similar issue on Oreo. Nexus5x.

I cant help you on the app drawer, but if you could find some app icon skins or theme you like and use it on yur home screen. Then save yur settings under launcher settings, and ta da the icons only on yur home screens will stay the way you pick them.
