I had an idea like this awhile back as well. Honestly I was thinking of trying to make something like that but shaped more like an actual lightning bolt.
My only main concern with that one though is the shadow. Minimal is currently the way design is going and the way Android is going with the upcoming release of Android L. I would drop the shadow for sure.
As for myself I would extend a bit the horizontal bars of the L, so that the rounded end does not end over the bar of the other L, but a bit further ?
On a side note, I like the X in LLX and I don’t think it is not needed anymore. The app has really gone eXtreme, and even if it was a differentiator with the free version in the past, I feel that it is now fully justified alone.

Maybe add a shell or a house

Cool idea but: what about the X ?
Perhaps in the middle…

I think that if you rotate and displace the two Ls you get kind of an X and you can play with colours to have it read as three distinct letters …

TrianguloY X is not needed in my opinion. the free version doesn’t exist anymore…

you can also arrange the two Ls to get the shape of a lightning if you do not need the X

I like it: it is simple to catch and remember.
