I created a folder but I can not find a way to sort the apps on it in a row vertically.
They are always horizontally sorted.

When you place the side bar you can enter the folder settings with Settings->Folder and then Under Layout. Check the Picture.
Then afterwards you can enter edit Mode in the Folder itself and reorder the icons yourself. If you still cannot get it right, I can post some more Screenshots later.
