I like the way this setup is full of functionnality. And quite well in the “Google design” style.
But the design is not fully balanced.
I think it might be due to the two top boxes being a bit cramped up together while the central part is a bit empty. having a top and bottom with lot of information and en emptier center makes it more obvious and emphasize both (top looks overcrowded while center look empty).
Maybe if you gave a bit more space to the weather/battery widget, it might help.
Or a vertical split (time on top, media and the central part split vertically with one half (or 2/3) for folders/widgets and one half (or 1/3) with the weather/battery) this could look a bit like the Google Now widget with cards. I could see that working well with panels.
Don’t know if I am going to fully adopt it. But I am going to try it for sure.
