   How big are these images and how fast is your phone?

   
   

   I guess this happens because the images take some time to get loaded.

   It is probably possible to fix this, but it would increase the loading time. That’s why it is as it is ATM I guess.

   
   

   Full HD pictures take always some time to load no matter on which system

    The animation between activity transition is likely configured to display the system wallpaper. I don’t think this is a speed problem, but just that the animation is designed this way. I can see it on my Sony.

    
    

    In the future if I can find time to implement custom animations the issue may go away.
