Is there a way to get the app drawer to use the switch desktop animation?

Is there a way to get the app drawer to use the switch desktop animation? When I peform a swipe up gesture I’d like the current desktop to slide upwards and the app drawer to slide in from the bottom of the screen. Currently it just fades in on top of the desktop.

I don’t think so but I’ve been using either a desktop or folder to make an app drawer it opens much quicker and is more customizable ..putting a panel in a folder does cool stuff too

Yeah I’d prefer to be able to set up an app drawer like you can the lock screen: as a separate desktop rather than it being an app. Have you found a way to auto populate panels with app icons?

Actually that is the one down side… But all you need to do is use the multi add and add all your apps in one go.. Long press on home, add app, in the drawer long press the first app and start multi selecting.. It will line up to scroll vertically only unfortunately, and when u install or remove apps you have to manually update it, but honestly it’s worth it.. If you want horizontal scrolling make each page from a folder /side bar sliding in from the sides and use the swipe left/right gestures to open each folder /page to scroll… Looks jus like the card stack

I’d guess you could get them with a script but I haven’t really needed to look into scripting yet. I have a sort of side bar with the most used apps at the moment. Think I’ll have a go at adding an app desktop with a few grouped apps in it like games etc. Then maybe look into the scripts when I have a chance.

I have written a script to do that, it’s in the repository.

Lukas Morawietz I think that might have been where I got the idea from to begin with, I remember seeing somebody had done it with a script. So I tried to do it as less complicated as possible but probably is not as polished as the script is

Lukas Morawietz That seems to work perfectly! Thanks. 😀 Do I need to trigger a refresh like you sometimes need to do with the app drawer? And is there a used often version by any chance?

Lukas Morawietz, I have never once attempted to run a script know anything about it or had never even opened the script editor, with this one be a good one to try and start with just to see how one is loaded and run? And how much is involved do I just copy the script and paste it into the editor and hit run from a shortcut or something? I’m going to have to play with it at some point even if I don’t know how to write them lol

James Coyle that depends on your setup. If you set the script in the resume event (and it is not broken somehow), the only thing you may need to refresh is the native app drawer, as the script populates it’s list from there.

Sorry, no recents or used often, these lists are code generated and I don’t know how to access them.

Corey Spell I suggest you download and install the apk. Then you just have to load the app from the container which you want to be the new drawer.
