    Welcome aboard 🙂

The trick is to use a pinned panel and add item outside of the panel main page. This way the content of the panel can scroll, but the panel itself will always remain at the same position.

Add a panel, long tap on it then pin it. Now long tap again on the panel and select edit layout to edit its content, and start adding stuff in it by long tapping (again) and select add item. You will need to move items either on the left or right pages in the panel if you want horizontal scrolling, or up down for vertical scrolling.

Hi Pierre, I was wondering this myself, but once the icons on the main panel page are full, there is no longer the option to “add” another. So I then dragged out the panel so it overlapped the next page, and just spaced out the existing icons and still didn’t allow me to add more. Can you confirm if the panel box itself should overlap the main page for the extra icons you want to scroll on ?

Unfortunately I couldn’t progress due to constant force closes.

Welcome aboard! Panels are one of the more difficult concepts to understand, but once you nail them the rest comes naturally. The wiki has a great section on panels, (and lots of other stuff):

Some other useful tips on making a scrolling dock style panel:

After you hit edit layout, long press panel, and hit customize item/more to change the way your panel looks on screen. Press edit layout, long press the panel, and hit panel settings. From there you can press layout to adjust grid size. If you’re having a problem getting the grid to look right, check or uncheck “use desktop to determine panel size”. You can hit panel settings/scroll zoom to set how you want the panel to behave while scrolling. If you have any questions, please feel free to post them. There’s a lot of great people here who are more than happy to help.

P.s. you can also checkout the “share your screens” section of the community to download some templates for examples of different setups.

Nigel Pugh May I send you a custom build (tomorrow, not today) with special debug code to troubleshoot the force close ?

The panel only shows a fraction of its content, like a folder which would be displayed in the desktop itself. It does not have to overlap the main page o scroll, it will scroll as soon as its content is larger than its own boundaries.
