Hello!
Hello!
I’m trying to find a way to make the Status Bar taller on a tablet. Is there a way to do this in Lightning Launcher?
Thanks!

No that’s part of the Android system no launcher can do that.

I’ve read that modification of the device overlay will do it. I guess I will go down that road. Thanks for your answer!

Interesting in that case Lightning probably can do it, through script. I’ve seen themes that use overlays to do some cool things like the one I’m using now adds snow over other apps but I’ve never seen an overlay actually modify the system to make things bigger/smaller etc.

I imagine you will need to be rooted for such a thing..

Looks like Xposed Framework “dimension editor” module should do it on rooted ROMs that are fairly stock. (An adventure!)

Sounds cool I’ve always thought the navbar and action bar were a bit big, here’s a link to the module incase anyone else is interested/curious.

Reason– I’m doing an in-dash tablet. The bezel around the tablet is raised. It’s extremely hard to get my finger wedged in to fling down on the system bar. 🙂 So I want it taller.

Scott Serr you could simply use a gesture (swipe down) to open the system notification..

Great idea! It will work while sitting in any app — I assume.

For those interested… Xposed framework did make the Status Bar taller, but the “hit box” to swipe down is still super thin at the very top. 🙁
