Can some one tell me why the launcher keeps showing up on the rent apps list?
Can some one tell me why the launcher keeps showing up on the rent apps list? It really doesn’t do anything bad besides annoy me, and as long as I understand it shouldn’t be there.
Thanks for the help!

I assume you have it set as the default launcher in apps/permissions ?

If not that will fix it, if its set to keep launcher in memory to improve performance it can cause it if another launcher is default.

I get the same behavior (appears in recents). LL is my default home/launcher. It is also set to stay in memory.

I have the launcher set as default myself and it shows up in the recent apps as well now and then. Definitely not often, probably once every 2 months so it doesn’t bother me at all. Sometimes i don’t understand why it shows up, sometimes its when i’ve been in the app drawer (tho i cannot replicate at this moment) and i also know it shows up when i’m trying another launcher, but then that’s normal. Sorry I can’t be of any more help than it happens to me too sometimes 😀

Are any other launchers set to stay in memory? Or is omni switch enabled as a launcher? Beyond that I’d say its ll that has a hiccup.

Ryan Cordray , yes, LL is set as default launcher and also set to be always in memory. Still it shows up on resent apps almost all the time.

Bug I guess…

Same here:
-LL is default.
-Set to keep in memory.
-Omni is used as an alternate ‘recents’ interface, but is NOT enabled as a launcher.

I restarted today in the afternoon, so far, no glitches..

It happened sometimes

It used to happen to me when using the restart launcher action, or when the launcher restarted itself. Killing it from android settings fixed the issue. Try this next time.

TrianguloY OK, will try that next time, I’ll keep you lot posted, cheers.

From what I understand, this is linked with the way the app is called, and the launcher is not always started the same way by the system. Here is a simple sequence that may trigger the issue:
– restart the launcher from the app (long press on all apps, select restart)
– launch some app
– press home
When pressing home, Android will not recall the previously created home screen, but instead will create a new one with a different context (technically Android creates a second “task”). This behavior depends on Android versions.
Again, I don’t have a full understanding of the issue, but the thing above is certainly part of the explanation.

The only time I had this issue was when Lightning was handling my lock screen. When I went to my phone’s default lock screen, it stopped.
