Whats the difference with General > Events and Actions and Desktops > Events an actions. I want an app to open on swipe up but neither works, the swipe up action will only work if I have zoomed out on the desktop …. but I want this to work when normally zoomed. Virtually no support documentation makes this a poor buy, even if it was on sale.

Guessing a bit, but seems that those in General apply to all desktops, while those in Desktop (there is no Desktops section I’ve ever seen) apply to just the current desktop.

Regarding documentation, there actually is quite a lot of good documentation, but it’s a bit scattered and inaccessible at the moment. I’ve been pushing to have this situation improved.

Works fine for me, try disabling scrolling

one-finger gestures only work if there is no possibility to scroll. You have to disable scrolling for the direction.

The settings under general apply to every container, while those under desktop override the globals for the current container.

Documentation is in the wiki. Or long press on an option.

Up swipe doesn’t work if your desktop can scroll vertically.

Set scrolling to horizontal only or none. Just depends on your setup

Interesting. For some reason I didn’t even see the middle of the original post when I was responding. Selective reading I guess.

Thanks all, it seems you cannot have scroll vertically if you want to set a swipe up action.

I maybe was quick to judge, it just seems a steep learning curve. And looking for Swipe or Swipe up in the wiki gets a few results with the closest being the desktop result but even that does not mention you need to disable vertical scrolling. http://www.lightninglauncher.com/wiki/doku.php?id=desktops&s%5B%5D=swipe&s%5B%5D=up

I guess there is documentation but it seems small things like this are not written anywhere except if you ask here!

I do like LL and have already made the starts r to something like my old Smart Launcher but butter!

Bryce Applebee What you could do if you wanted to retain the vertical scroll is add a blank item, make it the height of your screen, pin it, set the swipe up action of it, make it blank etc. It may not suit your needs in this case but the more you use LL you’ll find ways that may provide a suitable compromise for seemingly unachievable things!

It should be obvious a swipe is performed exactly the same way that scrolling is, how is it supposed to know you want to swipe and not scroll?
