I’m trying to completely rid myself of having to use zooper by strictly using LL.
How do I display current Temp in Fahrenheit and another to display current weather icons?

Hmmm Tasker?

Not sure that LL has the option for this. I’m pretty sure a widget is necessary.

I don’t think LL can do that on its own. Tasker could probably do it, but it’s challenging to figure out sometimes. There’s a plugin for tasker that lets you create widgets. If not I think zooper is the better option. I have tasker & the widget plugin & personally I use zooper. Here’s 2 examples of getting & using weather data with tasker. The 2nd one requires an account.

I believe Jappie Toutenhoofd has figured this one out. Maybe he will chime in

Using only LL you can’t do this. You will need some other (such as Tasker) app anyway, and process of setting everything up will be long and hard. Wisest option is to keep zooper

You can do this two ways
– Use Tasker to run a HTTP GET on an api service like wunderground or openweather map, parse using JSON to get the temp and icons, OR
– Install the internet permissions plugin at http://www.pierrox.net/android/applications/lightning_launcher/permissions/, then run a HTTP GET from within a LL script. Look at this for an example http://www.pierrox.net/android/applications/lightning_launcher/wiki/doku.php?id=script_load_data_from_internet
In short, it’s not that difficult to get rid of Zooper, and being able to pull data directly from the internet means more flexibility than Zooper ever had. But it takes a bit of a learning curve to get comfortable with scripting in LL

You can also use Kustom Live wallpaper with LL to get rid of zooper or other widgets…

I wish I could still use Zooper because it was just easy. Problem is I’m on Lollipop and zooper takes forever to update if at all. Clocks are worthless in zooper now.

Tyler Buckner I stopped using zooper because of this issue.

Wern-Yuen Tan is completely right! I am still on the android part of this learning curve but getting close to perfection. LL can do anything!
