I’m playing around with stop points for the first time, and I’m a but stuck. Hopefully somebody here can point out where I’m going wrong. But….
I have a stop point off to the right of my screen so that I can swipe to the right and basically get a sidebar. That all works as expected. However, once the scrolling stops at the stop point it gets stuck and I can’t swipe it away again. I’ve tried playing with all the stop point settings and I can’t get it swiping away.
I fully expect I’ve made a mistake somewhere, but can someone let me know where? Maybe this isn’t the best way to get a sidebar, maybe I’m not getting my head around what a stop point should be able to do, or did I simply miss a setting somewhere?

Have you changed the settings so the stop point only works in one direction?

Yeah, it currently only has “Right to Left” ticked.

First, make sure there aren’t any other stop points somewhere.
Second, the stop point settings need to have barrier-disabled
Third, make sure you can scroll back in the container, I mean, if you are making a sidebar with a panel, that panel need to have horizontal scroll disabled.

I had been playing around, but none of my earlier stop points are there – even with always show and zoomed right out. I had barrier enabled, but disabling it didn’t seem to make a difference. And no panels involved (yet). So far it’s just a few icons there while I get it working.
Thanks for your help guys, I think I’m going to start again from scratch in an area I haven’t played with to make sure there’s no residual effects of past tinkering. Might also have to go track down a simple theme/template that I can see how the pro’s do it…

Make sure you don’t have the option (I can’t remember what it’s called right now) to only scroll to pages that have stuff on them turned on

Well, I sort of fixed it. Or at least added enough other “wrongly” elements that it seems to work 🙂
Basically all I had was the single stop point of to the right of my screen where I wanted the scrolling to stop. Mucking around on the train I ended up with a stop point on the left side of my screen that would only go to the right, a stop point on the right side of my screen that would go left or right, and the earlier one off to the right (only going left). Now it seems to work!

So I think the problem was that you didn’t have anything on the main screen, so when you scrolled right you couldn’t scroll back because there wasn’t anything to go.
So the fix is to place an item in the home page (preferably in the top left corner) like a stop point as you did or just an invisible shortcut.
If I understood your solution, you can remove the middle stop point, and even disable completely the left most one (so it don’t stop anything)
Anyway you can try, or just leave it as it is. If it work, it’s ok.

Something else to play with on the way home from work tonight, thanks.

Thanks TrianguloY… You did understand perfectly. If I remove everything except for the original stop point and put something (other than a stop point) on the homepage it works just like I were after.
You live and learn ☺
