I’ve used Nova prime for 2 years… Been using lighting launcher sence las night and I’M definitely impressed…. Once I get past the learning curve it’ll for sure be my primary….. Only down side no real tutorials that I’ve found… But I’ll learn my way around

Yeah, I’ve just recently bought it myself. It’s totally different from any launcher I’ve ever used, Nova and AL3 included.

It doesn’t seem to have home screens in the usual sense, just one massive ‘canvas’ that can be scrolled vertically or horizontally in any direction depending on the location of stuff dropped onto that canvas. Fairly steep learning curve, if you’re used to other launchers.

Still, I’m looking forward to getting to grips with it… Just wish there was some clue as to where to start.

I mean, take a look at my screenshot… it makes the Tasker app look easy and straightforward!😨.

No criticism intended by the way… Just a little bit baffled😞.

  2. It’s very hard in the beginning but, when you undenstand you can create the launcher you like, you can turn back!!! Happy new year

Michele Borrini Thank you, Michele. I’m in no doubt I will eventually understand how it works. It’s definitely got loads of potential. Have a great New Year to you as well😀.

  4. If you need help no problems. 😉

It’s a beast of a launcher and far superior to nova in my opinion… Love it

Michele Borrini ROB ‘Beast’ is such a great word to describe it. I suspect untapped power and levels of configurability that go way beyond any other launcher.

Usually what happens for me, when dealing with such things, if I tinker around long enough, I eventually have what I call my Eureka! 💡 ‘light bulb’ moment and the whole thing just clicks into place in my mind and I just ‘get’ it.

I’m still waiting for my ‘light bulb’ moment😕.

So, until that happens, I’m trying to figure out the following…

-How do I drop an app icon into a folder?

-How do I add a widget?

-What does detach from grid do?

    -What does ‘pin’ mean?

    Any clues, guys…

Ged Blake detach from grid and pin I haven’t played with yet..

To drop an icon into a folder long click on the icon move it over the Folder and hold it there until you see it interact.. Change color.. Then let go… It drops into the Folder

To add a widget long click any blank spot on your screen when the pop-up appears hit the + that opens a menu you’ll see widget as an option

  8. Detach from grid give you the possibility to resize the icons over or under the grid’s space. It is confortable for the widget for example.

You use “pin” when you want to block an object in that position. You can move to another desktop’s page and that object is always visible ( like the botton bar in nova launcher, you scroll right or left but the botton panel is fixed). 😉

  9. ROB says:

Michele Borrini how do you change icon packs and have it apply to all icons on your home screen simultaneously line in Nova launcher.. Or do you have to do each manually?

  10. Ged Blake says:

ROB Think I might have figured that one out…

Long press anywhere on the homescreen, select the settings option at the upper right hand corner of the context menu that appears…

This will take you into a settings menu, where an icon pack can be universally applied…
