Right now in order to exit the app drawer with the back key and I’m not at the beginning/top of the app drawer I need to press it twice. The first press scrolls to the beginning/top of the list and the second press exits the drawer.
It’s been awhile since I’ve used this launcher but that’s not how it was before, right?
Is there a script or some other work around I can use so no matter where I am in the drawer pressing the back key exits the drawer?

I’ve also noticed this behavior quite recently.

Why do you need that kind of behaviour?
I can’t imagine the situation…
You’re entering to appdrawer, then to folder (maybe to second folder). Then you see folder’s content and exiting without launch anything.
Right?
Why?

Weird indeed, I always use the home button to quit the app drawer because of this

Back key – one step backward
home key – quit the app drawer
IMHO excellent.

I agree something changed but I can get used to using the home button to close. Thx for the suggestion

I kinda like the idea of pressing that back button once to back out a lot better. I can always just scroll back up to the top, but it’s annoying that we have to either press back twice, or press home to back out…. Key word is back lol. I only recently started having this trouble as well…. Well then again i finally got a device that isn’t a complete piece of shit.
