that question was asked at least 30x just this year, it appears to be time that feature was actually added instead of the answer that normally got passed around.

Curtis Sylvester Jr. Is there an FAQ anywhere? With the answer in it? It seems like this would be doable with scripting if no other way. But I would like to know the answer to Silvia Rivera ‘s question, too, and so far I haven’t seen one…

i know it was asked at least 30x this year and the answer was always the same. something about backing up (or saving as a theme) or something and …. i got lost real quick.

the point is maybe its time to ask for a feature that lets us copy the folder itself.

Curtis Sylvester Jr. You are most definitely not alone in that experience. . . Which is why I asked about an FAQ. If there ain’t one there ought to be…

It would be a really good way to answer questions, as well as generating feature request which I think this is just became. Unless of course it already is a feature… But I still don’t know the answer :-P

    The answer:

There isn’t a way to make an exact copy of the folder, the way you are thinking (with scripts could be possible, but hard)

So…what can you do? Easy, place a shortcut to that folder (there is a lightning shortcut called ‘open a folder’)

It is not exactly the same, but the most close you will find. Only one folder, two ways of open it.

  17. Anonymous says:

    ]]>

  18. Anonymous says:

i reinstalled that app (i cant believe i forgot to) and i was reminded of something that confused me. why are there 2 of the same app now listed in my home button? and why does one of them say touchwiz?

    ]]>

  20. Anonymous says:

    < ![CDATA[

Corey Spell lol really ? Searching a way to open a folder ? LOL just click on the folder shortcut

And possible with gesture : just set” open a folder”

    ]]>

  25. Anonymous says:

    < ![CDATA[

No lmao to open the folder only on top of another app without it going to the home screen too lol I tried the folder shortcut but it opens and goes home

    ]]>

  26. Anonymous says:

    < ![CDATA[

Corey Spell just set a widget for you app and open the folder. It works well for me with folder on other folder

But why do you want a folder on a top of an app ? It’s not clean

    ]]>

  27. Anonymous says:

    < ![CDATA[

Well I’m try to set the swipe up for Google now from home to open a small app list, like “app Swap” I got the launchx widget with popup widget 2 doing it but I can’t give it the right background I want

    ]]>

  28. Anonymous says:

    < ![CDATA[

hell if we could do that one of my themes wouldnt have ended up in the toilet…. well for that reason anyway

Is posted this comment in another thread by mistake, don’t know how, but here it is anyway:

There is a small FAQ here: http://www.pierrox.net/android/applications/lightning_launcher/wiki/doku.php?id=tips_tricks.

But as usual, hard to reach in the mess…

There are at least several issues with folder copy:

    – I am not 100% sure that this is a so useful feature, IMHO linking usually does the trick most of the time

    – not all folder content can be copied: widgets cannot be duplicated (well, they can depending on various factors, but this is so boring that I am not eager to do it)

    – I forgot to add this to the TODO list (fixed!)
