Except through a hack: delete the file named “state” in the launcher data directory, possibly through a script. The file is loaded on each opening of the app drawer so if the file is deleted from a desktop changes will appear instantly, no need for a launcher restart.

What happened was I restored a template from my previous phone and the Used Often apps ended up being filled out with what I’m assuming was apps that I used often then, but it isn’t reflective of apps I use often now.
