I was curious, so I checked Lucid Launcher.

I was curious, so I checked Lucid Launcher. Basically, the Dev has a Browser built-in into the launcher with a swipe right from the home screen. I think that is convenient as heck (Ram usage be dammed) since he can do a google search AND see results with just one swipe and click on those results and visit pages right there. Unlike Google now.

What would be the best way to implement an instance of some light browser say, Opera mini? I think I could do it with Tasker but I was wondering if I could do it with a Panel. Thanks in advanced.

Thanks Bruno. I already do that with Firefox Beta via a down swipe from the Home screen. Great thing to do by the way, for anyone who is wondering. 🙂

It works alright but it is not as fast as having it there at the ready. The same could be said with a swipe/Google Now as well, it works, but it is slow.

You can use a CustomView, and create a WebView in it. You will need to install the Internet permission package too. That’s an advanced setup but I think you can find inspiration from the script repository, and in particular:

Be aware that there may be drawing issues when the webview is not on the main page though.

I remember when I tried to do this search this community you will probably find the thread/video I used Tasker back then, but now we have custom views I might give it another go.
