   The Essential is supposed to have standard Android but apparently they did something for the camera hole.

   Did you try a little fiddling with

   Settings –> Desktop –> System Bars

   ??

   Thanks for the response. I applied a bunch of system updates. Just the other day, I tried LL again, and all seems to be working well now.
