How do we display dynamic variables on the desktop?

How do we display dynamic variables on the desktop? The ones that can be set by tasker (i think they start with a ‘$’). it would be good if the badges would have an option for custom dynamic variables. thanks.

Using bindings. For example create a text object. Click and hold to bring up menu. Press pencil icon and properties. Click Button top left to select category of properties. Select bindings. Click ‘add binding…’ Hit the property button and select ‘text’ and choose ‘label’. Enter your variable from Tasker in the value box eg $TaskerVar. If you have already set it from Tasker then it’s easier to hit the plus button and select it from ‘other’ option. Don’t add the dollar on the Tasker side or it won’t work. Hit OK and back Button. Not done much with badges but the bindings don’t seem to work. You could however just create text with border and background so it looks exactly like a badge and set bindings as above.

As an additional question, has anyone seen a binding for the background color of a text object? Not sure I just missed it.
