With all the changes you have added there is one thing missing I’d still like to see: the ability to duplicate desktops. I have created an app structure as a desktop and would like to be able to set that as a template for other desktops to use. Ideally I’d like it to track updates to the original template and mirror them but I’m guessing it would be quite complicated to implement.

Technically, duplicating a deskop is fairly easy now (cloning a folder or a desktop is really the same operation). However maintaining a link between the original and the copy is another story.
I am thinking at something else (completely different) to help in sharing a part of a screen. I believe this is a rather old suggestion from TrianguloY : in addition to the main desktop that can be switched to another, a given desktop could be displayed under the “switchable” one. To be honest it may cause some issues with event bubbling, I am not sure it would even work, but that could solve this kind of sharing issue.

I’d definitely like to see the basic panel like duplication but I’m interested to see what else you come up with. 🙂

And is it possible doing pinned items to all desktop now? I mean technically…

Pinning across several desktops is still not possible…

And as small hack? I mean automatically set name for item, copy item to all desktop, and copy style from first item to all items with same name on different desktops. Unpin can working same… But only remove pin.

James Coyle I forgot to mention a hack in case it can help now: you can export a template and re-import it to duplicate a desktop.
Danbar Danbar some kind of item replication could work, (this is more than a simple hack though).
