Brian King yeah I understand that but nova has dynamic calender support for icon packs , so my question is can I set an icon pack then somehow use the calender icon as a zooper widget? ?
Now I see what you mean…You’d probably have to create whatever you wanted to dynamically change and then stack it on top of the icon… Probably not what you’re looking for
I know nova has this dynamic icon pack support, but I want to ask: why don’t you want to just use a widget? Keep in mind a widget don’t necessarily is big and full of data, some of them are just small buttons, and I know a lot of apps that emulate that behavior.
However, if you want for some reason to have a dynamic icon (perhaps you want it in the app drawer? ) you need to know that in the latest beta the ability to modify icons was added, and perhaps (it is a full new set of features to try so it will take time) what nova does can be done from scripts.
But first please answer my question about why you don’t want to use widgets. I don’t want to be rude, just to give you advice and perhaps better ways to do what you want.
I’ll use widgets I just don’t know how to make an icon a calender widget, I’m really just a novice with an awesome advanced launcher if you could explain in laymen terms that would be awesome
I am sorry but this cannot happen yet, basically because LL has no access to external data (internet needed for weather for instance). There are a few data sources built into the app for sms, missed calls, etc. and I don’t wish to extend this list (at least not in the main app… elsewhere maybe…).
As for myself, I still don’t understand exactly the need for this calendar icon pack.
Tyrone Moore so I guess you’ll need to wait until we master the new painting capabilities…or search on the internet, perhaps there is a widget doing that (just the last question: that icon pack provide all the different icons with the different number? )
Tyrone Moore do you know a free icon pack which supports those dynamic icons? I want to test, now in the latest beta I’m almost sure this is possible to do!

I second that!

Buy why not a widget?

Just get Zooper. You can make any Widget you want

Brian King you can make an icon tell you day or weather using zooper? How

Tyrone Moore Zooper has a ton of variables that you can use in widgets. If you look in this post (https://plus.google.com/111515542011384905214/posts/iDvBSfDAxwB) the calendar and weather widgets on the left side of my screen are both Zooper Widgets.

Do you want to use a specific icon or not? (In case you want a specific icon pack or just the dynamic feature)

< ![CDATA[
Yeah I’d like to use an icon from an icon pack that I have

The dynamic feature on whatever icon I chose

Yes that is correct

Pierre Hébert lol yeah I guess it’s more of personal preference than a need for sure! It’s just cool to have a functioning icon

The main goal of this new painting API is precisely to allow some sort of “light” widgets.
A few things are missing but this is something I would like to achieve someday.
There is no support for App Widget on Android Wear…
Anyway, the canvas APIs is extremely powerful, so don’t use it only for “widgets” 😉
