I work with panels alot and I sometimes run into a spot of bother when I drop an item into the wrong panel. Can we have the opption to lock individual panels when in edit mode? This way I can place panels over other panel without losing them.

Thanks

…or simply add a confirmation before moving into panel.

That’d be great. I would also like the option to lock detached items in position as well. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve grabbed a detached item and pulled it halfway across the screen. It’s back to the geometry editor after that. :)

thomas greer I feel ya. I’ve done that countless time, it got to the stage where I had to take notes, (on paper) of item sizes lol.

I’ve done the same thing you were having problems with too. I’ll make a panel or a shortcut, that’s really nothing but a shadow, detached from the grid. I’ll move it accidentally, and drop it in the panel trying to put it back. 🙂

I would split this in two goals:

    – prevent accidental drops in panel

    – prevent accidental move of some item

That’s not the same “lock”, but that doesn’t mean the same switch can not do both.

I put this on the TODO list but I don’t think it will be there for the next release though.
