Because if you have a panel, and you use the panel (click, long click, etc) then the gestures apply to the panel, and for example Back button don’t work in the desktop (it work in the panel)

    That’s right, the behavior of the back key and gestures need to be tuned, this is not very user friendly as it is. That’s a bit more complex than only focus, I need to think twice at this, because I would like to allow events to be customized separately (by desktop, panels and folders) and this has a direct impact on this.
