Please, may we have a “go up a level” button in the editor?
Please, may we have a “go up a level” button in the editor? If I start editing a panel, it’s difficult to edit the desktop or a sister (not sub) panel. In one extreme case, where I created a panel the size of the desktop, sent it to the bottom most layer, and tinted the content area (to add contrast to my floating desktop), it was nearly impossible to move it, as the only way to select the desktop for editing was to create a shortcut to do it.
thank you for LL!

Use the item hierarchy

this doesn’t work, as there isn’t a representation of the desktop in the hierarchy: there is no way to select “edit layout” for the root item.
aside from this, it will let me switch from panel to panel, albeit in a cumbersome way (there isn’t a way to go back a menu tier). much simpler would be a button in edit layout mode would switch the context to the parent object.

Personally I have the two fingers swipe down event set to Lightning menu.
This way no matter how many panels you have, swiping down with two fingers will open the menu of the current desktop (then just click the pencil)

However this is also a good caveat.
Pierre Hébert: what about the ‘item menu’ entry to open the desktop menu, like with panels? (And what about change that name to ‘container menu’?)
[I know you want to remake this feature, just in the meantime]

Indeed, a better hierarchy menu would represent containers and item in a… hierarchical way, from the root container. Also this menu should probably be easier to access through a menu in the bottom bar.
I will try to raise the priority of this evolution together with fullscreen panel editing.
