Is there a way to have a live wallpaper in only lightning launcher?
Is there a way to have a live wallpaper in only lightning launcher? Lollipop systemwide live wallpapers eat batteries, and I’m unable to select a live wallpaper as a desktop (not system) wallpaper in LL.
Thanks!
« The new editor is great, but I really miss the old fullscreen settings dialogs for item properties. (Previous Post)
(Next Post) Hi! »
No there isnt. Live wallpapers are system only. My only suggestion is to not use a live wallpaper at all. Unless theres something i dont know of.
That wouldn’t benefit battery life anyway, Krista Wolffe.
Live wallpaper is live wallpaper.
Chris Chastain I think it might. After some extensive digging with a process manager, in Lollipop (at least the CM12 flavor, I’ll check some other devices on the test bench at work later) live wallpaper is always running, unlike KK where it was only running when displayed.
I think what changed is that Lollipop uses transparencies extensively. I’ve noticed quite a number of places where wallpaper peeps through (albeit with a low brightness) where it didn’t previously.
I don’t need to see my koi pond (my live wallpaper) when I’m anywhere except my launcher.
Makes sense I guess. I haven’t tried 5+ yet. Still waiting for it.

Hi, I make a link to my post I just made:
https://plus.google.com/+EvelienWijbenga/posts/JoNA4M19E1M
Was goiing to link there but there were 2 Krista wolffe’s So now I know I have the right one.
Evelien Wijbenga thats neat and i guesd it would count, but i thought she meant an actual live wallpaper …. like one from the play store (yowindow for instance). I know you can have one of those as the system but no way to have it for the ll desktop.
As for picture wallpaper that could very well be different.

Hi, yes I now she rather would some real live wallpaper like from playstore, But I thought I trough this suggestion, as a request if it is possible Then I think it would be a very nice feature for Lightning if it could have a “live wallpaper” which is battery friendly. And maybe you could choose if you want it for desktop wallpaper or system wallpaper.
Evelien Wijbenga ah ok, your tasker project looks cool, though i cant figure out how to substitute cropping for resizing…. nor how to get a random image to display. Maybe im thinking too hard but i dont wanna rename my images to 1.jpg, 2.jpg, 3…..
Basically im trying to get tasker to find a random image, running thru the resize process and use it as wallpaper.
Curtis Sylvester Jr. Sorry it took so long for me to respond, you would like to make a wallpaper changer yourself with random images without renaming them. I think it is possible but you have to link the real image name to a number in a variable (through loop), when the number (var1) is called it launches the good image (var2)
Hello Curtis Sylvester Jr. I made a very easy way in Tasker to get random image without renaming them 1.jpg, 2.jpg etc.
