I know this is dificult.
If user go to edit mode for desktop, it is visible border (white).
If user go to edit mode for folder and have set grid, please show border for grid too.
If user go to edit mode for panel, here is very big problem with edit. For examle, i have panel 1×5 (as dockbar) and editation is for me horror movie.
Please if user go to edit mode for panel, show him same place as you show for folder (in all screen), and show borders, what is visible directly in desktop.

I wanted to allow full screen panel edit for 12.7 and actually worked on this, but it wasn’t as easy as I thought and I had to push back this enhancement for a future release (visible in the history) 🙁
