The admin permission is needed but that’s not the real problem. There’s an issue in the way the lightning lock screen is implemented. In theory it should be possible to improve this and implement a lock action, but to be honest I fear to brake the thing, it’s fragile and device dependent.
Christopher Rogers if you have root, you can install xposed installer and install gravitybox. If you will have this, you can select add shortcut, select gravitybox action and select lock. đ
In gravitybox is many shortcut done, for example show off menu, show quick setings, etc.
