Is there anyway to group shortcuts/widgets/etc?

Is there anyway to group shortcuts/widgets/etc? Bundle them as a single component, so we can move/copy the whole group so we don’t need to recreate everything when modifications to an idea occurs.

Some kind of grouping  can now be done with panels, but it would be a wonderful feature if you could tell exactly which items on the desktop to group, say for example the upper left icon and footer panel with all its icons.

On the to-do list, and a lot of people asked about it (me included).

I’m sure pierre will be able to add it in the future, but it seems to not be very easy, so be patient.

Pierre Hébert, Shouldn’t it be possible to assign an app/shortcut/widget/etc with a group name/id in its settings panel, and then be able to clone/recreate all the items with the specified group name that exists within its current working area (desktop/folder/panel), recreate the items with the grid position from(x2,y3) to(x3,y4) / float position, rotation/etc? So we can at least copy the items into another folder/panel/desktop?
