Its all in one place on the wiki isnt it? I dont see how having “all the information in one place” is better because by the time your done reading it all you will of forgot most of it. Its a lot easier to just long press and read the info for that particular thing comes in really handy when you forget what something does or how to use it.
I don’t wish to add quite a lot of weight to the app with builtin help. There isn’t a single user manual but the content of the wiki and all help topics gathered already make quite a lot. Also the great thing with online pages is that you don’t have to update the app…
Gotta say, the learning curve of this launcher IS pretty steep, still cant really figure out the difference between a sidebar and a panel, but its still pretty impressive!
Side bar, as picked from the Add dialog box, is simply a folder with the animations set to appear to slide in when opened.
A “side bar” can also be made from a panel, or even just by putting stuff on an adjoining page, and pinning the stuff on the home page (so it doesn’t scroll away). Then when you scroll to that page, the stuff slides in over the home page stuff.
This^ i think the sidebar was added because a lot of people were/are making setups with Google Play style Navigation drawers but like chris said there is different ways to make them. A sidebar is the easiest and quickest way.

IIRC, you can long-press on anything to get a description of what it does.

Yes I know, but it would be nice to have all the information in one place.

Yeah, I like to read through a manual, if only to find things I don’t know about to long press on.

Yes, or go to the wiki and have a little read next time you go for a dump. 😉

Print all items in the wiki and produce a pdf 😊

Problem with those helpful infos after long tap is that they’re web sites if you don’t have internet connection you can’t read it
