Would it be possible to show a custom label for widgets? It works for apps, but not for widgets.

Would it be possible to show a custom label for widgets? It works for apps, but not for widgets.

I have three mail accounts in Kaiten Mail which all starts with the same first letters 8 and I can not differentiate between them due to truncation. A workaround is of course to rename the accounts, but that is a workaround, not my preferred solution.

Thanks for the attention!

In this case I recommend to place shortcuts to something (for example to the account, or to shortcut-lightning action-do nothing)

Set them in free mode to place them wherever you want and hide the icon. After it just set the label you want with the color you want.

    Hope it helps 🙂

    Perhaps you misunderstood.

Keep the widget, and place the ‘label’ above. I’m not saying to replace it.

The widget will work as it is, with the label.

Yes. I misunderstood and after realizing that I removed my stupid comment :-).

    Thanks for the clever tip!

    I can add the following:

    1. To avoid free-hand placement I used the margin and padding to position the label within the shortcut “area”. To position the label below the widget icon (which I preferred) I added a top margin of 100 and a top padding of 18 to the shortcut (since 100 is max for each. EDIT: It is not; see below. You can manually enter any number).

    2. The existing widget label cannot be removed. However, if you want it hidden (and do not have a solid colored background) it can be made invisible by adding bottom padding to the widget. I added a bottom padding of 40.

    Works like a charm.

    Thanks again!

I guess you are in grid mode.

Remember that you can long click, position, detach from grid

This way you can place the label wherever you want, even change the scale and rotation.

(also while in edit mode, long click, position, geometry editor; will allow you to fine editing)

    😉

Oh, and 100 is not the limit…try input the number yourself 😉 (works in almost all prompts)

That’s really powerful! Well, I actually preferred grid mode because I felt it made it easy to copy the style to subsequent shortcut labels and thus make the positioning a bit faster.

Didn’t notice that I could enter the number manually. Was a bit in a hurry 🙂

    Thanks for your help!
