it’s a really crazy question and maybe someone else will agree with me.
It would be possible to run a folder outside the LL context?
e.g. set the Open Folder shortcut in navbar (or any other thing, for example a gesture or a launchbar) and the folder windows opens on the curent app in overflow instead of lightning launcher.
This would change everything, we could bring LL everywhere!!

I agree that would bring a lot of potential. I think Pierre Hébert said last time, that it would require him to implement folders from the start, because the current implementation doesn’t work in an overlay. (or something like that, I can’t find the post). I am not sure if it is already on the to-do list.

Something else that is implemented but not ready for use, (not even in beta) is the ability to display a desktop above everything else. This is roughly similar to a folder outside of the app. This desktop can be displayed by swiping from a screen edge for instance, from (almost) anywhere. It is designed primarily for the wear, although I am currently working on restructuring the project to make it available on all devices.
As I am working at a slow (very slow (very very slow)) pace at the moment, don’t expect to see this soon, but I will nevertheless release soon one more beta with those architectural changes, maybe I will enable some hack to preview the feature.

Pierre Hébert it’s good to see that it is already in the roadmap ^____^ I think that will be the greatest feature on LL. Sincerely, I already had a taste of that future feature when I was on KitKat using an xposed module called “xHalo floating window”, and it was great! I can not wait to see it again on LL

Yessss yessss please!!! Lol that’s what I’ve wanted from the first day I actually realized the raw power lightning has. It’s about the only other big step I think it can take. Hell I’d pay for that one without hesitation 😄😄😂😂 it’s the only thing really cool about that other top launcher but it is done half-assed and would be perfect for lightning, but if I’m correct I’m sure it would be a decent amount of work on his side

Man there’s just so much fun I can have with some floating windows that are actually lightning launcher panels or folders lol that literally would be out of this world bad ass, but I am sure giving the complexity of all of the options in lightining for a panel or folder, it probably wouldn’t be very easy but I know he can do it
