I would like to see the option for a wallpaper/background for pages.
I would like to see the option for a wallpaper/background for pages. or the possiblity for a background/wallpaper which is a multiple of the pages height or a multiple of pages width. so that there is no need for widgets to realize this.

Yes indeed, I am thinking at how to implement this. The main issue is memory use. This will be a tradeoff between memory / CPU. As of today I plan to enable this through an image item which would not have the size limit that shortcuts have. Hence this image could be placed on the screen at different layers and on different pages.

Pierre Hébert Nice Idea, but it should behave like the background. taps, long tap, double tap … 😉

Yes, that’s right. This should be the default but maybe I can allow the event configuration too, in the same way it is possible for shortcuts. The default would be not clickable, but users could change this if needed.

Pierre Hébert, please keep low memory cost even if you will implementing more interesting feature
🙂
Thank you

Abednego JS the good thing is that it only costs you memory if you actually use it 🙂

I’ve been trying to get the same effect, but both zooper and uccw are having problems performing – first crashes and/or doesn’t show more than 3 bitmap only widgets and the other just crashes.
Would be really cool if this was part of the launchers ability – haven’t seen anything like that nowhere!
GO Pierre! 😀

Bitmaps have the power to rapidly exhaust your memory, and make the launcher crash in the same time 🙂
Edit: but there is a complex “workaround” for that this already implemented for desktop wallpapers and may be used for folders background and page wallpapers…

So far the launcher has been great, only uccw and zooper have been having problems. Zooper almost works to get a huge multiple page picture, the only set back ids that it stops displaying the widget at certain side to side ratios.
Probably because the possibility of a widget wider than a page was not considered. The wallpaper is a bitmap too, isn’t it? So it might have the same dangers?
I’m not a fan of the scrollable wallpaper, but a wallpaper that’s the size of multiple screens would be awesome, I would be happy even if it was realized by a capable widget solution.
Thanks, Pierre, for your hard work!
I plan on buying LLE, but an waiting for a moment that’s nit so busy – because I’ll definitely start playing around with it and then my school work and my sleep will suffer.
