When we are editing/designing items/widget’s, which are unlocked to the grid, in edit mode, we have 2 green “helplines” which snaps in the center of the item/widget. See the first to screenshots.
Inspired by the new “Total Launcher” (Sorry Pierre, but this is the only Launcher i use and test besides LLX. I swear 😉). See the screenshot 3,4.
Could we have also snaplines that snaps in the horizontal and vertical alignment of “neighbour” Items/Widget’s?

In settings, current desktop, layout, you can change snapping behaviour.
Is this what you mean?

No. That’s when i move an item around then it snaps at border or center of another Items. Thats correct.
But after that action i could resize the item to mach exactly the height or the wide of the neighbour item.

This done best by entering values in geometry editor, rather than by hand.

Ok, I understand: snap should occur not only when moving but also when resizing item, is this right? I think it is probably on the TODO list (or it should be), I remember of it, but I lost focus on this and forgot about it 🙁 I will try to raise the priority for this, I agree that this is missing a lot.
