Do you know xposed installer? If no, install him and download some modul. After restart, you can enable and set more button and action.

    My opinion:

1- the menu key is deprecated, sorry. Newer Android won’t even allow it. The three dots button in the nav bar appear only with old apps that are not updated to newer sdk.

Personally I also loved the menu button…But android is android, if you don’t want to root. (I’m not root too)

2-I can be wrong, but I think that button is only for android, so the launcher don’t even know that you pressed it. However I know at least one app that ‘change’ the action of that button (a different recent apps list), but it does it always, not sure if it is constantly checking if you pressed the button, or the most probably just change the recent apps action….not sure

Yes, I’ll root soon and my old phone was rooted, but I first want to have some days with warranty, if something is broken from start…
