I think a quick search feature would be very useful. Like the one Yandex.Shell has for example. It is like google now search on our phones, but much faster to start. When you type it would search on both contacts, installed applications, etc. Yandex also searches online at the same time, but this could be secondary.
Also how about a dialer? Samsung’s slow contacts app is painful to start :(.

Maybe you can find a replacement app on the store ? The dialer/contact app is more than I can do, but I think that good alternatives exist on the play store already. These are not so simple apps, there is a lot of hidden machinery behind.

Jhonbert Magana I already mentioned google search. But yandex.shell or action launcher has faster alternatives. Google search is powerful but 2-3 seconds laggy at start.

Might I recommend Maluuba? It’s locked in portrait orientation, but a little Tasker magic can make it work in landscape. I’m not certain if it will show your apps, but I do know it can find your contacts with little difficulty. Otherwise I might recommend Sherpa or maybe Utter!
