I have a feature request that would be very useful for me at least. If possible I would like to see the ability to freeze and unfreeze apps like app quarantine or titanium backup can do. Those apps work okay but once an app is frozen it’s no longer in the app drawer. So for me it would be ideal if we could freeze and app and have an icon stay in the drawer. Maybe with a lock on it or something so we can easily see that it’s frozen. We would also need to be able to put an icon or widget on the desktop for launching.
This is probably asking for a lot, but if you could do it you’d have the only launcher with that feature that I know of. Maybe that could even be a special feature for llx.

It looks like the “hide” option ? This option allow you to remove it from the list of apps, but see it again through checking “Show hidden”. Maybe another way would be to create a “Frozen” folder in the app drawer, and move apps in them ?

This is a bit different than hiding apps unless I’m mistaken. If I’m right then hiding and app still allows it to still run in the background. Freezing and app stops it running completely almost as if it’s uninstalled. I have very little ram on my phone so I freeze the stuff that I don’t use very often but still runs all the time in the background.

Ok, I understand know, but I thought that root permission was needed for that ?

Now that you mention it I think you’re probably right about needing root for that. I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t rooted so I didn’t think of that.
The paid version of Titanium Backup is what I’m using now and it does mostly get the job done. I have a separate page just for frozen apps which works most of the time. Once in awhile I get an error that says something about error inflating widget but I haven’t noticed what causes it yet. I’ll have to see if the next update does it and if so I’ll let you know.
I do know that I after switching to llx and then uninstalling the free Lightning Launcher I got that error. That’s what made me think to make this feature request.

I guess I should have mentioned that Titanium Backup can make a widget for freezing and unfreezing an app.

James Simmons agreed, but fortunately there is room for more. I also take great care at the weight of new features.
Anyway this is one of the reasons that made me choose to finally ship two versions, one of which is bigger than the other. Most expensive additions will likely go into LLX but not LL.
