On display off, if a lock screen is enabled.

On display off, if a lock screen is enabled… It would be nice to have a configurable timeout before the lock screen activates.

you are joking right? i would love that for the system lock yet i cant figure out how to do that without either having a screen timeout (which i dont want) or having to turn the screen off myself (which i dont want either). that defeats the purpose of having my music player staring at me from the lockscreen

    1. Reading something,

    2. Screen times out,

    3. I immediately hit power to turn the display back on,

    4. Lock screen. Have to unlock to get back.

If the delay from display off to engaging the lock were a little more than zero, 4. would not happen.

thats easy. i just increase the timeout time in system settings or you can use an app called Screebl for that

My phone does not have this setting. The LL function where you can use a desktop as a lock screen is separate from the system lock screen… Does the LL function take this timeout setting into account? Screebl does something else entirely.

no ll lockscreen doesnt do anything without system timeout sadly. screebl is designed to prevent timeout when in the range set in screebl options. basically the cause is with whatever timeout setting your phone is set for but as there is no setting to change that i suggested screebl to fix that for you.

Thanks for suggesting screebl… maybe I will give it another look.

I do think a setting such as this would be a good addition to LL, though. Thx.

a setting such as that should have been in your settings to begin with. im honestly yet to find a phone that doesnt have that setting. is that a new phone?

You do recognize that I don’t mean, “time after inactivity before display turns off,” I mean “time after display turns off before lock screen will engage”? If so, isn’t this setting irrelevant, if LL doesn’t look at it?

ah i see but again thats a system thing. my system does the same thing. its designed that the lockscreen kick in immediately upon timeout. its a good thing but im guessing that this is how the ll locker works. i was thinking if you extend the timeout time you can avoid the lock.

I have the system lock screen disabled completely… only the LL lock desktop function is active. And wishing LL could wait a timeout after display off before activating the lock desktop.

so ur saying you manually turned the screen off then back on hmmmm maybe a setting to have a wait time or to disable could be in order hmmmmmm

There is an app called Delayed Lock on Google Play… the video for it describes what I’m thinking of (the lock delay, not the wipe function or plugins).

ill check into it … does it require root?

I don’t know…but since LL’s desktop lock is not an actual system lock, LL would not seem to need root to allow this delay to be configured.

nor would it work for that because it isnt system

This is a valid suggestion. I don’t like and use it myself but I agree that it is nevertheless useful.
