   In de folder options from that sidebar, look for Current folder windows,

   change Horizontal alignment to Left, and width to 0. Maybe Place your apps under each other inside the sidebar.

   Any thoughts on what I’m doing wrong?

   Make it narrower, and taller so when you set horizontal alignment to left or right it won’t stretch across the width of your screen
