The (only) developer of Lightning launcher Pierre Hébert is currently absent.
We’ve got this statement thanks to Lionel SANCHEZ (paraphrased):
” I am OK but I have ‘unplugged’ myself for personal reasons.
At the moment I maintain Lightning Launchers website but avoid to start my computer.
I’ll be back some day but can’t say when. “
You can continue to post feature requests and bug reports, but do not expect patches in the near future. (Often scripts can be used to provide workarounds.)
I and other active members will continue to keep this community alive until Pierre returns.

You know, this is why its good to have more than one developer, someone to at least fix bugs meanwhile. I mean, what if he doesn’t come back? Its totally fine wanting to take a rest. but its kinda sad if he doesn’t come back and Lightning Launcher just dies without the chance to continue on one way or another, I just hope that he open source the thing if he eventually abandons it

Lukas Morawietz only understandable if Pierre comes back, if not – open sourcing is a honest way to give chance to customers have project LL evolving… Maybe Pierre doesn’t want to use his computer.. but I am sure he still often using bank account to which revenues from Google play sales comes.. like with all those abandoned apps.
Honest is : that Pierre should talk with himself openly – if Pierre doesn’t have more lust he should write it at least in Google play so new customers don’t get fooled.

Very disappointed in LL since getting my pixel. Love LL for the ability to create a theme that is all me. Now with my pixel and Oreo this app no longer works well. Also using substratum for more in-depth personalization. This was once the only app that offered the customization I fell in love with Android for. That made it a must have for many of us. Now… I guess it’s time to just root my phone and forget about LL as a whole. I hope the dev is ok. Good luck all.

That worst part is that I don’t know any launcher that can be a substitute for LL, I can’t even move on from LL because LL is the only launcher that I know that have such deep customization and as a bonus it is incredible lightweight, and there’s so many things to improve on LL, it will sad if the launcher just dies
