Pierre Hébert Is it possible to add the option of replacing the notification panel with a desktop? I currently intercept the panel opening with tasker and navigate to my custom notification panel (the default panel can be opened using a gesture from it). It works but shows the start of the panel open animation before the event can be detected.

It would work the same with Lightning: detecting the notification panel opening is only a crude hack. It doesn’t prevent the action but it cancels it soon after it started.

Do you know if there is a way to disable the panel entirely and detect the gesture manually?

I don’t think so, it is enforced by the system, unless you use a custom rom maybe

Third party apps FTW! I’ve found a gesture app that let’s me swipe from the top to activate a shortcut and disables the default panel. 😀
