Quick question.

Quick question. Is it possible to create a sliding dock in LL? Seems like I should be able to with pinning, but I must be missing something.

You may use vertical pin only for instance (advanced option in customize item/more/last tab) this way items can scroll left or right, but not up and down, or you could use folder aligned to the bottom side too.

Something else to make dock (“embedded folders”) is on the todo list, but this is not ready yet.

Lol. I’m not that Scott. Can you pin things outside the main home screen? Seems like when I do it pulls it into main screen. So for instance have a row across three screens that stays fixed.

Yes, uncheck “Honour pinned items in edit mode” in “General” section (maybe this should become the default mode by the way…)

I’ve accomplished a rough slide out drawer by using scroll stop points. I have my home page, and when I scroll to the left it only scrolls 3 blocks, and I’ve made a custom widget to take up that space. It’s rough, but it works smoothly most of the time.

Scott, I had the same question a few days ago. Pierre was kind enough to point out that pinned items stay pinned across pages not desktops. Pages are the ones you can slide to in customization mode. Desktops are the ones you can flip to in regular mode.

I have a folder that opens on a swipe up gesture that has 1 row and 5 columns but more than 5 apps. I think this might be what you’re looking for, but I’m not sure if you could have it always open.
