Josh Gray No, I’m not ignoring changes, but as for now this is the way I designed it and I think it looks good. When there will be more critique I can change it. And you know this is icon, a symbolic representation, it doesn’t have to be 100% reallife looking. Let’s take Google Camera icon, have you seen camera with such colorful shutter/lens?

Josh Gray Critique is always welcome. But consider this isn’t official Google app, it doesn’t have to strictly follow guidelines. It’s enough when certain level of aesthetics is kept. Also I’m aware that different suggestions may be posted, and I will be more than happy to listen to them, but don’t force anything. If you want, go and make your own proposition, where all guidelines will be strictly followed and roofs will be squared as they should 😉

I think we agree that icon looks good. Perhaps Viggo could just for the sake of it post a version with cut roof so we can compare.
Then run it through Asset Studio. Bevel kills the design IMHO:
