Currently trying to have a folder open directly above its icon, but no matter what I try, the folder always opens in the center of the current screen. Am I missing something or is it currently not possible to have a folder open e.g. on the bottom of the screen?

Agree with you, would like to see this too. Actually I would prefer to be able to choose specific position/location for the folder to be opened. Would more or less replace the “Popup Wideget” app then.

You can do that, but it takes a few steps.

    1. Tap on the folder so it opens.

    2. Long tap in the folder and select “customize Lightning

    3. Go into “This folder” settings

    4. Scroll dow till you see the box.

    5. If you select a border top and make it bigger, the folder will move. You have to set the color to that border to transparant.

Vincent Van Deuren is right, this is the only way to do currently. In the future I would like to add an option to select folders placement, and maybe size.
