Is there any way to add all of your apps into a desktop screen/folder using a checklist similar to nova?

Is there any way to add all of your apps into a desktop screen/folder using a checklist similar to nova? I’m in the free version and just started using this launcher so I’m not sure if I can.

If you long press an app whilst adding one, it will open a menu with “add to x” on it. That way you can add more than one item during that process. They may spread on top of each other though.

Steve Parkin all I get when long pressing an app in the all apps drawer is: add app to launcher, toggle hidden, and app info.

Maybe I was vague in my post. I want to add all apps at once without going back to the drawer and long pressing each app to add it to the desktop. Is that still possible?

Yes. “Add to launcher” should perhaps be renamed to “add this to the thing you’re currently adding things to even if it’s not the launcher itself”.

So the process would be :

Long press on blank part of desktop and select add item (or equivalent)

For each item in the app drawer : Long press, select Add.

Press back (or select an app to add it).

Yes it’s slightly more work than Nova  However you can add all apps in one long operation (rather than mass select and add them all at once). However Nova doesn’t do at least half of what Lightning Launcher does.

There are a few discussions on here about this very question – if the answer above isn’t clear, check the other posts on this topic. 🙂

No, you made yourself clear. Thank you. I was hoping for an easier method than that but now I know that’s my only option. And ya lightning runs circles around nova with all the things lightning can do!

Steve Parkin lol don’t be, I’m not in the grumpy mood so I didn’t notice any hint of that. Also, you had good intentions anyway so I understood. Plus you added a smiley face!

I think randomly sending a few notifications to the status bar with quick tips on how to work the launcher could be a good idea. make it permanent and give it 2 buttons one to remove it after its been read and the other to disable the notifications completely so new users dont think its spam, or add a new text field to LLs menu that let’s users no that long tapping on nearly every item will show the help text for that item, because when 1st trying this Launcher it can be very complicated especially if your use to the usual launchers like nova, Apex and adw etc.

    IMO

Jay M notifications no, please. I can ensure that they are not made for this purpose. Pop-ups maybe, but the can also be annoying.

About the long press…there is a pop-up that say that when you first install LL 😉

I agree there not, but notifications can also be discreet were as a popup could appear at a bad time and no one wants that were as with a notification all you see is the ticker text roll and then a new icon appears in your statusbar, and you can choose to just leave it and read it later because its not in the way. Ino there is but its easy to forget about it or just ignore it. If theres a friendly reminder in clear sight every time the menus opened it could help people to remember.

Something like this, Hey are you finding LL difficult compared to your last launcher? did you know that long pressing an item will show some help text on how to use it? feel free to join the LL G+ community were you can get help from myself aswell as from other users, you can also checkout some LL homescreens, and tutorials and sign up for beta testing 🙂
