Hello Community!
What is the columns to rows (per page) numbers you all use aka desktop layout?
Can’t decide the right one, and without it – not start thinking about how it all should look.
I use S4 1920×1080 480dpi.. My goal is to get icons still visible but still to get most information per page. If you know what I mean 🙂
Just tell how You go on with your layout setup, what mode you use (free/fixed/auto)! It would be very interesting for me to know.
Maybe you use different layout for different desktops..
Feeling me like writer who have blank white page on the table. Writer-Angst/block..
Thank you, Bros & sis

I use 5 x 10 what I do to find a nice grid size is i place a widget at the bottom and top of the screen then i enable the grid lines this lets me see exactly how big the cells are in the grid if that makes sense.
Rememember you can resize stuff though so even with a tighter grid you can still fit stuff in by scaling the items down and of course you can detach things from the grid and place them exactly were you want them.
I use a fixed Number 📱

I use most times 8 columns and 12 rows.
Depending what i want to display i place panels with different grid. I never use free positioning.

I usually use 6×11, on a Galaxy S4 i9505 😉

gerd reuter what you mean with “I never use free positioning” – the setting “detach from grid by default” ? (just asking to be sure exactly what you meant/btw : respect for your themes, as I look at them I always thinking – I will never reach that level of understanding the LL)

Sonne Kind yes. I mean this. I use detach from grid only a very very few times.

gerd reuter have you somewhere sample/theme/template of how you use 8×12 in connection with panels with different grid. So I can understand the (new to me) concept behind the desktop & panels relationship. Thank you
