About the new English translation:
I want to say that I like the new translation, the settings are more understandable. Congratulations.
The only thing (so far) I don’t like is ‘steal a style’. I think ‘copy a style’ is a bit better, because the other icon don’t lose their style.
But, maybe I’m not the best user to say this, I’m Spaniard. So that’s why I posted this in the ‘discussion’ section.

Yeah. I can agree with that for the most part. Steal a style, definitely has a poetic twist to it. “Copy a style” is more formal. Not a big fan of “preferences.” It implies a predetermined end point. ‘There are choices but only what is provided.’ That’s how I feel, based on other Apps. Especially launchers. With Lightning it is much more user customization. Think customized car versus Moto maker.

But the translation works well to make it more user friendly and less Intimidating to new users of Lightning.

IMHO, steal is the wrong word.

I dunno, IMO its all good but copys something you would expect to see though and its old school, were as steal is unique and fresh and that’s not a bad thing especially with a launcher as unique and fresh as this one 😀 as for preferences I would prefer customize or pimp my Launcher/Homescreen or something but like i said its all good.

Copy or duplicate style. Steal just has all the wrong meanings

“Steal” is definitely wrong! The original item keeps it’s style, so it’s not stolen. It’s copied, or cloned, but not stolen.
“Preference” also is not fitting. Would really prefer “Settings” or “Customize”.

Didn’t Jobs and Gates talk about this once.

Josh Gray but Josh…weren’t you the translator?

IMHO your job was really good Josh Gray, when I look at my phone, texts seem much more natural. I don’t know how to explain that, but I feel that it’s a lot better.
Regarding this particular copy/steal style and the discussion around it, I think this interesting to see how much it is difficult to find the right words for simple tasks 🙂 I liked the ‘steal’ version, but of course my eye on this is biased, maybe it doesn’t convey the full meaning, agreed.

Anyway, don’t worry. Your translation is good and correct, it’s just that ‘stole’ wasn’t one of the best choices.

Regarding deprecated strings I need to keep them in the package because people do not always update packages in the same time. If the language package is updated but not the launcher itself, it still needs to include strings for the previous version as well.
