   This can now be done per item. Long tap / position / detach from grid.

   
   

   In layout settings there is an option to set the default item position mode :”Detach by default”.

   Pierre Hébert The “Detach by default” option is actually at the same place like the free mode selection was, isn’t it?

   Almost. It was in the same screen but at the top of the list. Internally this is the exact same parameter, but it is now used a bit differently.
