What you can do for gestures is select “launch shortcut” and then select the desktop bookmark. But you need to make sure the selected desktop is already at its target position and these bookmarks won’t be able to reach panels and folders.

Panels are where I was getting stuck. Long pressing and adding the bookmark works for the panel, but that is the only way. Any other way marks just the desktop.
