If I have a widget which overlaps onto the next screen can I use a scrolling stop point to make it so it won’t scroll to that screen?

Thank you that you have raised this issue. I never really understood how the scrolling stops are used. Maybe someone can write a little tutorial on this here.

i guess it depends on the settings you have on scrolling. if you set a scrollstop it should stop on that point and you have to scroll again to get by that point.

Yes, I also think that it is a matter of attitude.

I have to use the checkbox scrolling stops activated.

Now I should by a long press on the desktop, select “Edit Layout” select, and then long press on the screen to select “Add”. Now the menu item “Scroll-stop point” is visible.

This procedure does not work for me if I have occupied widgets on my screen. Is there another way to put the scroll stop points.

Sorry for my english – I hope everything was understandable!

Scroll stops are reminiscent of an older version without paging support. Their aim was to stop free scrolling, and as a consequence they are partly superseded  by the “Snap to pages” option. Now, the tricky thing with scrolling stop points is that they only act when the finger is up, that is during inertial scroll. What I plan to do is change this behavior so that they also stop dragging (finger down). I have always push this item latter because it raises some issues and it seems like it is not really used anyway, but after all it may be used to create great navigation scheme in combination with X/Y pin, so I might work on this as soon as possible. Scroll stops might also receive an option to stop scroll/drag in only some directions. Warning: hardcore themer option !!!

Oh wow – like getting a super fast response from you Pierre 🙂 I tried to understand everything of you, but I am not sure whether I did it really.

    * There is a scroll-stop for pages (click)

    * and there is scroll-stop points no matter where it is used on a page, Yes?

And this second point can not be properly implemented. If so, then I know that I did not continue looking for a way, but the innovations of you will wait.

Petra Pingalerie I am not always fast you know! Fortunately I got time for LL these days.

Scroll stops only work if page snapping is disabled.

Scroll stops can either be automatically generated (the checkbox in options) or put manually on the screen (long tap, add scroll stop).

In fact the “Use scroll stops” checkbox should be renamed to “Use automatic scroll stops” because when it is unchecked, manual scroll stops will still be taken into account. Yes, really confusing !

So yes, the conclusion is that it is best to wait for the feature to be properly implemented and documented 🙂
