No Wallpaper

No Wallpaper

I usually use a solid black wallpaper and I always used the “No Wallpaper” option instead of having a solid black jpg on my device, but now this options gone 🙁 I’m sure there was a reason for it but looking at the changelog I don’t see it mentioned.

    What do you mean?

You have the Android default wallpaper, you can’t use a ‘no wallpaper’ here (maybe with some roms…)

You have the desktop wallpaper, a lightning action feature. You can use reset to remove the previous added wallpaper.

And you have the color. A lightning launcher feature. You can use a solid color.

    What is the problem?

There use to be a no wallpaper option listed in the wallpaper app picker when choosing a System Wallpaper. Im not 100% sure it was an LLX feature but I don’t think its a custom ROM feature either, because I haven’t updated my nightly for over a month. Maybe it was from an icon pack I uninstalled or something but I don’t see why an icon pack would use that most have there own wallpaper picker app built in, and I haven’t uninstalled any system apps since I last updated my Nightly, the only thing i have done is update LLX twice, The color option only tints the wallpaper on the home screen, the no wallpaper option sets a solid black color to the lockscreen and the desktop.

I don’t think this was something provided by LL

Jay M the color option can be set to 100% opaque, giving you a solid black (or other color) background.

Chris Chastain yes, but it’s a desktop setting, he will need to set it in every desk.

He is asking about the Android setting, something can only be done with a specific app that add the setting to the android list of available wallpapers. Something I personally think LL didn’t provide. (But can’t be 100% sure)

From what I read before TH (Tiny Home for those who dont know) didn’t have the option for a wallpaper anyway, so maybe Pierre thought people might like that feature in LL

On my phone, I see no ‘no wallpaper’, so I’d guess that’s a phone specific feature.

What I do is pick any wallpaper, then use LL setting as per above.

If you want to minimize RAM I suppose you could choose a 1×1 pixel background first.

i never had that option which sucks because i could use it. instead i would always have to use a black wallpaper and thats what i DONT want. honestly its annoying having to use the desktop wa….. wait a minute. we can call a feature request to have global wallpaper setting. i find myself having to set the h/w adjustments for every screen manually. what if we can have that as a global setting so you only set it once and every home screen uses that setting?

The problem with live Wallpapers even ones like “colors” is they drain battery, The problem with a picture wallpaper is its covered with widgets and stuff anyway so you barely see it. A no wallpaper option is genious IMO. While having a black image on the device is easy enough finding it can be tricky if you ever looked for a black icon on a picker that has a black background you no what I mean.

Pierre Hébert If this isn’t a LLX feature It would be cool if you could consider it cheers.

Jay M is right: the option existed before. Now it is gone but it is internally activated as soon as you use a opaque color (since you cannot see the wallpaper of course).

Also in some android versions there is a way to fully disable the system wallpaper (a global option for all apps). It was great for low ram devices, but it seems it tend to disappear.

Jay M that feature must be device dependant because i never seen it on mine. unless by this you mean desktop wallpaper and not the system wallpaper.
